Terms of Service

Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using Haven (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and MODEX Apps, a company based in Tirana, Albania ("we", "us", "our"). Our Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Haven is not a medical service

Haven is a wellness and self-help tool. It is not a substitute for professional mental health care, therapy, psychiatric treatment, or medical advice.

The content in Haven — including exercises, journal prompts, AI conversations, mood insights, and all other features — is for informational and self-help purposes only. Nothing in Haven constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

If you are in crisis or believe you may harm yourself or others, please call your local emergency services or a crisis hotline immediately. Haven provides links to crisis resources in-app; please use them.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Haven. If you are between 13 and 18, you may only use Haven with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

By using Haven, you represent that you meet these age requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

Accounts

Creating an account is optional — you may use Haven in anonymous mode. If you create an account:

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You agree to notify us immediately at hello@modexapps.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
  • You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen. Deletion is permanent and irreversible.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Haven to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App.
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or any harmful code.
  • Circumvent security features or access controls.
  • Scrape, mine, or systematically extract data from the App.
  • Impersonate another person or entity.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these rules.

Subscriptions & payments

Haven offers a free tier and optional paid subscriptions ("Haven Premium") that unlock additional features.

  • Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Payment is charged to your App Store / Play Store account at confirmation of purchase.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Play Store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • We do not offer refunds except where required by applicable law or platform policies.

Crisis resources, safety plans, and crisis hotline access are always free and never gated behind a subscription.

Intellectual property

All content in Haven — including the app design, graphics, text, code, logos, and trademarks — is the property of MODEX Apps or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Your personal data and journal entries remain your property. By using Haven, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process your content solely to provide the service to you.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Haven's content without our prior written consent.

Crisis & emergency situations

If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, call your local emergency services (e.g. 112 in Europe, 911 in the US, 999 in the UK) or a crisis hotline. Do not rely solely on Haven.

Haven provides links to crisis hotlines and safety planning tools as a convenience. We are not a crisis intervention service. Accessing crisis resources in the app connects you to independent third-party organisations; MODEX Apps is not responsible for the availability or quality of those services.

Disclaimers

Haven is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
  • Any information in the App is accurate, complete, or suitable for your specific situation.
  • The App will meet your personal mental health needs.

Use of Haven is at your own risk. Always consult a qualified mental health professional for personal advice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MODEX Apps and its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — Haven.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Haven shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €50, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability; in such cases, the above limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Albania. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tirana, Albania, unless applicable consumer protection laws in your country provide otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or by email. Your continued use of Haven after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the Terms were last revised.
